I recently attended a most enjoyable portrait workshop given by Andrea. The session was very informative and Andrea’s casual approach and the relaxed atmosphere made learning the technical side much easier than I expected. The hands - on photo shoot, with a professional model, was an invaluable experience. Both the studio and outdoor sessions were done with such ease that no one felt intimidated which led to a fun and instructive photo shoot. The critique session, with the combination of Andrea’s keen photographic skills, motivational words and constructive comments, gave one an understanding of the finer points of composition needed to create an excellent portrait . Andrea is a wonderful teacher. She is relaxed, and sets a comfortable, cheerful tone. She helps you learn from whatever level you are at. She is very competent and knows about all types of cameras. No question is too small. Her pedagogy considers adult learning needs, making everyone feel good about what they have accomplished while pointing out what needs to be corrected. She incorporates theory as well as enough hands on practice so you can immediately apply the theory. You not only learn about how to get the most out of your camera but also how to compose photos, and then how to crop and adjust them so that you end up with the best photo. It was a fun workshop. She also keeps the classes small so that you have lots of individual teaching. Thanks for a great day.

l really enjoyed the workshop on taking portraits this past Saturday. This is my third course with Andrea and each and every time I learn so much.
